With reference to previous correspondence ending

with your letter No. 36499/1913, of the 29th ultimo,on

the subject of the piracy on the Stean Ship "Tal On",

I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to transmit to

you herewith to be laid before the Secretary of State

for the Colonies a copy of a letter from the Imperial

Merchant Service Guild with regard to a further attempt

on this vessel,

Sir E. Grey would be glad to be supplied with any

report which may have been made by the Governor of

Hongkong on this matter, and would suggest, for Mr.

Harcourt's consideration that a copy of this letter and

of the report should be sent to His Majesty's Chargé

d'Affaires at Peking with instructions to take steps,

should be think it advisable, to bring the matter to

the notice of the Chinese Government.
